A message from the Director, Mr. Jigme Tenzin

Welcome to the Multi-Education Centre ( MEC ) website. Multi-Education Centre is a non-profit-making organization. We preserve Tibetan culture and provide learning opportunities for the most marginalised students in our community in a resourceful and coherent learning framework.

We provide English volunteer teachers and quality education in Mcleod Ganj. There are many volunteering opportunites, and you are most welcome to view our galleries to see much more of what's available at the moment. The centre is dynamic and enterprising, offering excellent and varied learning programmes, specialising in providing teachers for students to learn in their own homes. Teachers can also be placed, for long or short term placements, in the monastic communities around Mcleod Ganj.

Most of the MEC students are newly arrived refugees from Tibet. They are in need of English Language lessons to improve their opportunities

Tibetan refugees flock to Mcleod Ganj because it is a settled community built around the presence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Tibetan culture thrives here in a way it no longer can in Tibet. Volunteering with the MEC brings you into immediate contact with this thriving culture and community and offers you a unique opportunity to live alongside and learn about the Tibetan culture, language and society.

Mcleod Ganj is in a very beautiful part of the Himalayas and there are opportunities for trekking and visiting local Indian villages.
